Norberto Velez, 31, was shot and killed in the hallway of his apartment building at 910 West Addison Avenue, just steps away from the old Town Hall Police station, at Halsted and Addison streets in Lakeview's Wrigleyville neighborhood. Velez was shot in the chest. His body was discovered around 7:20 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
